Nestling on a 20 acre smallholding (pictured), with hill sheep in the foothills of the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park, this little cottage is perfect for walkers and nature lovers. Within easy reach are some of Wales' finest attractions, including the National Show Caves and White Castle. The museum at St Fagans is well worth a trip, Hay-on-Wye and Brecon, with its cathedral, are both about 10 miles, and Abergavenny is 20 miles. Numerous outdoor pursuits are available nearby. Shops and pubs 2½ miles.

Reviews
This was a very peaceful location and the only sounds were the birds and the sheep. There was a field to walk our dog in and a common around the corner which was good. The cottage was well heated with electric storage heating.

A fantastic cottage in a lovely location - this has to be one of the most peaceful spots in Britain, and we had the mountains to ourselves! The nature around Ty Du is remarkable - nesting wood peckers, swallows, kites and sparrows. The waterfall near Talgarth is very pretty and worth a look, and the church is interesting and pretty. A great place to explore the Black Mountains, highly recommended, and many thanks for the wine. The cottage is clean, homely and very comfy with a very good film collection. Thank you for pointing out all the nesting birds and wildlife, we hopefully have some good photos. We will definitely recommend it to friends.
